About “The Post”

The Web.comic Post is a news source for all things “webcomic” and “internet cartoon.”

Inspired by publications like Fantagraphics’ “The Comics Journal,” Tom Heinjes’ “Hogan’s Alley,” and Prana Publishers’ “Comics! The Magazine.”

You can expect artist interviews, career deep dives, meme webcomic origins, navigating social media, the pros and cons of the various platforms, what software/hardware artists are using, animation adaption news, gaming & webcomics, what “syndication” might look like nowadays, licensing, lgbt+ in webcomics, and the history, exploring the different internet-cartoon eras with websites like newgrounds, tumblr, buzzfeed, collegehumor, etc.

Cartoons were born & thrived in newspaper funny pages & cable television networks for decades, but now those industries are considered a dying breed, usurped by The Internet™️
Everything has shifted to the online landscape, an environment with enough niches that’s evolved the art of cartooning into a biodiversity of new species never before possible.

and we want to talk about it.
